developing perception in kids through play

Sensory and perceptual difficulties

Development of perception in humans and animals is affected by exposure to different stimulations and individual ability to process sensory information

Some people with developmental disorders or autistic disorders may struggle to receive, process and make sense of sensory information

Psychologists can help these kids through designing play interventions to facilitate their perceptual development

Sensory Integrative therapy as play

Perception occurs in a multi-sensory environment

SI therapy is a strategy designed to help people cope with sensory and perceptual issues

Theraputic interventions include activities designed to support changes in individuals like therapy, treatment or access to improve their quality of life
